Chapter 7, Drill b: Practice making
adjectives agree with nouns even in different declensions.
The noun and adjective in each Latin pair
below may or may not belong to the same declension, but the adjective
must agree with the noun in case, gender, and number. For each
Latin noun, provide the adjective in parentheses in the correct
case (nominative, accusative, or ablative), gender, and number
to agree with the noun. For some nouns, there may be several
possibilities.
Example:
urbem (magnus) Answer: magnam: urbem is accusative singular
feminine, so magnus must also be accusative feminine singular.
It does look different because urbs, urbis f. is third
declension while magnus, magna is a first and second declension
adjective.
