Chapter 21, Drill c: Practice using fifth-declension nouns.

For each short Latin sentence, the English word or phrase in parentheses can be expressed using a fifth-declension noun. Put it in the right case and number.

Example:
(On that day) Quintus ad ludum processit.
Answer: illo die or eo die .

1. Cicero (about the republic) saepe scribebat.
2. Cicero (the republic) servare cupiebat.
3. Cicero saepe (hope) pacis habebat.
4. (At midday) Quintus amicum salutavit.
5. (For four days) Quintus litteris studebat.
6. (On the fifth day) Quintus carmen composuit.
7. Quintus paterque iter (of ten days) confecerant.
8. (Without hope) omnes desperant.
9. "(Great hope) me tenet," Cicero scripsit.
10. (Within seven days) Quintus litteras Graecas didicerat.
11. (For many days) Quintus paterque ambulabant.
12. (The matter [thing]) gravis est.
13. dic mihi (about the situation).
14. (In truth) omnia me terrent.
