Chapter 17, Drill e: practice use of the perfect (present perfect) tense.

The verb or verb phrase in parentheses in each of the following short English sentences can be translated into Latin using the perfect (present perfect) tense. Provide the correct form of the Latin verb corresponding to the English verb phrase.

Example:
I (walked) yesterday.
Answer: ambulavi.

1. The general (ordered) everyone to be ready.
2. We (read) three chapters this morning.
3. You [singular] (went away) in a hurry.
4. You [plural] (trusted) me at that moment.
5. He (carried out) the assignment well.
6. The Romans (overcame) everyone.
7. Cincinnatus (freed) the Romans from fear for the time being.
8. The captives (escaped) [use evado].
