Ancient China

Legalism

by Tyler and Danny

Here are three things that the Legalists believed in. First, they believed in harsh punishment and we chose a jail cell for our banner. Second, they thought all people were naturally bad and we put the fires of Hell in our banner. Last, they believed in strict laws and we drew a gavel to show that.

These are three things about Legalists. First, they had strict laws. For that, I put a law book and made up three different laws -- people shall be punished, we shall have good government, and we shall respect our elders. Second,to show they were perfectionists I have a clean bedroom because when I thought of perfectionists, I thought of neat and clean. Third, they believed in punishment. In my drawing is a paddle hitting a hand, handcuffs, and somebody being burned.

The Legalists were a unique group of people. First, they had very strict laws. We showed this by the gavels and the scroll of laws. Next, people were punished harshly for what authority thought were inappropriate actions. This was shown by the jail cell. Last, the Legalists believed that people were bad by nature, not just once in a while. The window on the banner shows this.
