Forward to the Past
Introduction
Forward to the Past was developed under the auspices of the Academia
Latina, University of Pretoria (UP) as part of a cross-cultural
enrichment program project. The course material was written by
Mrs. Rolien Bührmann, a classicist and English teacher.
The material was supervised by Mrs. Corrie Schumann from the
Academia Latina and edited by Prof. Jo-Marie Claassen from the
Department of Antique Studies of the University of Stellenbosch.
A teacher's guide is in the process of being written.
The course aims at empowering learners
by enriching their command of the English language through cross-cultural
and linguistic studies based on the Roman world. The level of
the course is adaptable within the range of grades 7 to 10, depending
on learners' command of English.
