Kurt C: Odyssey Project Proposal
My project will be a DVD case that I will cover and create to describe a movie about the Odyssey.
Setting: The Movie is set in Ithaca, Troy, and the Ocean, as well as anywhere that Odysseus and his crew traveled. I will assess the Odyssey and check all of the locations that I may include in my description.
Task: I will cover a DVD case and include an illustrated cover, a back cover that lists the features of the movie and two inside covers that list a cast and a summary of the story. I'll include a film section that lists where the movie was shot, the actors, the making of the movie, and the producers/directors.
Student Role: My role in this assignment will be "executive producer." I'll put the entire DVD together and promote it as if it were a real movie. I'll pretend that I produced the final copy and was responsible for the creative touch in the DVD.
Audience: My audience will be anyone who buys a ticket to see this action packed film. I am targeting it to teenagers and middle aged people who have a basic understanding of the Odyssey but would like to see a real visual epic with the accompaniment of popcorn and friends.
Purpose: The purpose of my DVD is to explain in all reality what happened in the epic, known as "The Odyssey," and to spark an interest in the Odyssey among all viewers of my movie. I would like to give young people who have a little interest in the Odyssey a full blown view of the epic that changed literature forever.

Description: My project will include me create a DVD case that looks and contains information similar to that of a real movie. I will present my DVD in the character of a producer and will try to promote my DVD to the audience that features my classmates. I will:
- Create a cover
- Create a back cover
- Assign real life actors to portray characters in Homer's Odyssey
- Give a brief description of the original author, Homer
- Include an abridged version of the Odyssey
- Give pictures from my movie
