Students will practice the cultural skill by creating a DVD, VHS or book jacket on some aspect of a character or mythological figure or scene in the Odyssey.

The teacher will show the students the movie the Odyssey.
The teacher will provide students with information on characters, plot and mythological elements in the Odyssey.
The teacher will explain the use of a performance task design template and demonstrate how to create the task.
Students fill in grid of performance task template.
Homework:
Students need to design a DVD, VHS or book jacket on using characters, or mythological figure in the Odyssey. Front and back covers are designed and plot summarized, inside cover with information on Homer, the author.
