Critiques of modern films dealing with
ancient subjects wanted!
The AbleOne Education Network’s (AbleOne) Classics Technology Center on the Web (CTCWeb), invites you to submit papers on the topic of Classical subjects in modern film for its 2006-2007 publication schedule.
Modern film loves the Classics, and we love articles about those films. Did you see Troy? Did you note differences between Homer’s version of the story of Achilles and the film’s? Alexander the Great may have been panned by film critics, but how does it hold up under factual scrutiny?
CTCWeb invites educators and students of Classical Studies to submit papers for possible publication that deal with any topic related to Classical subjects in modern films.
One of CTCWeb’s most read articles compares the film The Gladiator with historical evidence. This award-winning publication is the Web’s most popular article on the film. Your submission could be the next to achieve this status.
Interested contributors are invited to review CTCWeb and to consider submitting work to CTCWeb for publication. We accept submissions in a variety of formats, including lesson plans, multimedia presentations (movies, audio recordings, PowerPoint Presentations), academic papers, images, and other formats To contribute, please send your materials via email to CTCWeb Assistant Editor, Susan Gorman at sgorman@ableone.org.
